Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) are products that are sold quickly at relatively low cost to the public. Examples include food, groceries, soft drinks, perishables, cleaning products and toiletries. Though the profit per item made on FMCG products may be relatively small, they are sold in large quantities, so the overall profit can be large. In FMCG, Lean is being applied successfully to both manufacturing and to the overall supply chain.
