A set of interacting or interdependent entities forming an integrated whole. Systems have: 1) structure defined by components (entities) and their characteristics 2) behavior with inputs processing outputs with flow of materials and information 3) interconnectivity with functional and structural relationships between entities and 4) in Lean Six Sigma a system performs function(s) for customer(s).
