Materials Requirements Planning (MRP). Computer systems used in plants to coordinate demand forecasts, ordering, bill of materials, stocks and WIP. MRP systems always have significant errors at detailed shop floor level. JIT can improve plant performance. See also MRP II and Enterprise Resource Planning.
