Excel Tip: Custom Cell Formatting

With Custom Formatting in Excel, it is more informative to attach text to numeric cells. For example, you can make a profit/loss output of a formula appear as “$100 Profit” if positive, “($50) Loss” if negative, and “Breakeven” for zero values. The cell remains numeric and accepts calculations.
